Friedrich is a German artist living and working in Los Angeles. His work focuses on universal themes of the human condition: love, loss, loneliness, optimism and dejection, all imparted with a tragicomic pathos. Additionally, the game of tennis is represented both formally and conceptually in his practice. Friedrich’s last show at the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford featured a tennis court within the exhibition space, with sculptures and paintings that took on an interactive role there.
Alejandro is originally from Argentina. He grew up playing soccer and tennis competitively. After attempting acting and modeling in Los Angeles and Mexico for over a decade, he started a new career running soccer and tennis camps for kids. He has been working with kids for years and it is his passion. Now almost 45 years old, he is married and a proud father of 7 year old boy/girl twins. He is a very close friend of Freidrich Kunath and agreed to partner up with him for this wonderful event. Although he has not played a tournament in years, he is very eager and excited to participate in this competition. He wishes the best of luck to everyone involved.
